Does anyone know the name of the song playing at the end of the episode Be
Still My Heart - where Lucy and Carter are lying on the floor wounded?

Wow! Congratulations, it's been a long, long time, but I think you are the
one millionth person to ask! Not sure what you win, though.

All together now, ate:

'Battleflag' by the Low Fidelity All-Stars!

Why couldn't you just answer the question or just ignore it? Why the
pissy attitude all the time? Always so snide. Do you win shit for
talking down to people?

FWIW, I've seen that eppi 100 times and I didn't know what it was
either but really Sharon, you couldn't have just answered or skipped
the thread all together?

I didn't say I was...never did. But here is the thing you aren't either
and neither is she-I can't think of one person on this groups who is
personally. But the person asked a simple, if often asked question.
If it annoyed her she could have ignored it..no snotty response needed.

You *chose* to read that reply as "snotty", which is no
surprise given your attitude toward Doc Sharon. Your
self-righteousness is a wafer-thin facade.

And once again, your own statement applies to yourself.

I don't think I'm self-righteous at all (of all the things I AM and
there are many things, self righteous isn't one of them) but then you
see things differently I guess. My attitude toward Sharon was well
earned...mutual disrespect going way back. Interesting who you jump to

And once again my state applies to you as well...Welcome to the club

Kelley, ignore these guys. Sharon's post was bitchy. I talk to newbies on
various board all the time. If I am annoyed by a post that has been asked a
hundred times I ignore it. Only the snobs who brag about being around for
years get so upset. I agree with you though. One of the best things about
usenet is the ease of use. Coming on somewhere and asking a simple question
such as what song was on the last episode is easy for usenet posters.

I'm sorry but I side with Sharon on this one. I don't take her answer
as sarcasm, but a gleeful remembrance of the days that question brings
back. Had I been the first one to reply, I probably would have said,
"Mack the Knife" or "Cuts Like a Knife" or "Let it Bleed."

If newbies would Google that topic, they would see the flux of
questions that "that song" has raised each time that episode is aired.

It got to be quite the group joke. In fact, if we had an FAQ, it would
be in there. (Do we still have an FAQ on the digiserve site?)

Replying to myself:
a) yes, the song is in the FAQ
b) Googling "Be Still My Heart Song" within this group gets 86 hits
c) Googling BSMH song within this group gets 25 hits

This goes back to 2000, when the eppy originally aired. The tenor of
the group was completely different back then.

I wanted to ask myself but I didn't get here first. Some snarky comments
are just not really necessary. I can't tell you how many times we have to
answer about "That fuck you like an Animal song is called what?" On my
various Nine Inch Nails spots. Just a newbie perhaps. I understand that
most people don't eat sleep or breathe Nine Inch Nails, and most have no
idea about Google Groups nor the Usenet feature used to search. Same goes
with ER.

No, what I wrote above as a suggested Google was the name of the
_episode_. Some people also refer to the episodes as an acronym, thus
"BSMH".

Just for fun, Google it just like I wrote it in letters b) and c)
above, and read what people used to write about the topic back in 2000.

If someone can get to Google Groups, surely they know how to Google a
subject.

I am not trying to start an argument, I was just trying to remind
everyone of how much fun we used to have with that dreaded question.

You have got to be joking! Newgroup instructions are passed out with MS
Outlook. It is very easy to find. But understanding and playing around
with Dejanews...ummm Google Groups, another story. One might be able to
find out about Google. But how would one come across that otherwise?

No song title and no episode title.

I need some help with the song that is normally played during Project
Runways walkoff at towards the end of the show. I've heard it other places
but most often on Project Runway. There are no lyrics.

"Kelley! YOU ARE DARK-SIDED. GARGOYLES!!

Sorrry just watching Trading Spouses again.

LOL. Yeah. Sharon talking about the good old days. I was reading the
old
post for hours last night. Not sure where Sharon fits in there. "

Well I was wrong for what I posted because not for nothing I'm just as
guilty as she is (well maybe not AS guilty but guilty none the less).
I'm no angel about this. I just hate it when she acts like she doesn't
trash people...please.

But I should do as I say and ignore her but THAT was too much to take.

are the
one millionth person to ask! Not sure what you win, though.
'Battleflag' by the Low Fidelity All-Stars! "

I'm sorry but I side with Sharon on this one. I don't take her answer
as sarcasm, but a gleeful remembrance of the days that question brings
back. Had I been the first one to reply, I probably would have said,
"Mack the Knife" or "Cuts Like a Knife" or "Let it Bleed."
If newbies would Google that topic, they would see the flux of
questions that "that song" has raised each time that episode is aired.
It got to be quite the group joke. In fact, if we had an FAQ, it would
be in there. (Do we still have an FAQ on the digiserve site?)
CathyM

Thanks, Cathy, that was what I meant, I was remembering the days when that
eppy first aired and we were literally asked that question dozens of times,
sometimes even in consecutive posts.

Usenet is one of the easiest places to ask quick questions about various
topics. You don't have to go through the trouble of signing up for a bunch
of stuff or registering. You just post and come back and check. This same
ease of use supports free speech, which many abuse by being assholes!

I feel sorry for newbies sometimes. Sometimes I do it too, but not for
little innocent stuff. Many for the stupid posts.

First, let me say Thank You for the answer to my question.

So y'all know what went through one newbie's mind while trying to find the
answer to a question, here's what I did to get to this newsgroup.

I googled ER until I found the episode date and number. Easy, but didn't
find anything about the music. Admittedly, I didn't spend a lot of time on
google trying to find the music. I knew there were newsgroups that knew
everything about everything, so when needing an answer, go the experts. I
googled "news groups about tv shows" and came straight here. I used a wizard
to set-up the account. Guessed right about the nttp address and it worked. I
posted and got an answer almost immediately. Thank you again.

Since I didn't know this was such a "simple question", I wasn't aware anyone
was being snide - or not. But let me say, I was reading posts from a
Calligraphy site years ago when I decided to post. This was not a newsgroup,
but it operated similar to this one. I misspelled an actors name I was
referring to that had good quotes that would make nice gifts - calligraphic
wall hangings or plaques. One person attacked me for the misspelling and
said I couldn't be a fan of this actor since I didn't even know how to spell
his name - nothing about the Calligraphy or the post - just a personal
attack. I was so embarrassed I've never been back to that site.

I've been on the web long enough, now, to pay small people no mind. I've
learned, though, that the web is a great resource for all information,
whether it be a simple question or needing comprehensive information about a
health condition. Continue to share the wealth

I'm glad I could stimulate so much conversation with my "simple question".

BTW, Battleflag is the perfect song to end "Be Still My Heart", IMHO.

Let me close with this quote from Illusions by Richard Bach.

"Every person,
all the events of your life
are there because you have
drawn then there.

What you choose
to do with them is
up to you."

Thanks for all your help.

Well, let me apologize for the troll suggestion. Your post fit a
certain "pattern" but I was absolutely wrong. I'm sorry.

a.t.e could use more conversation, so if you continue to watch ER, it
would be nice if you posted again. Newsgroups--with the 'anonymity' of
posters--do tend to foster arguments, though, so it helps to ignore or
tune out those whose posts you don't enjoy reading.

CathyM
P.S. I liked Battleflag, too. That was a stunning way to end the
episode.

I think we are all a little loony. But don't let that scare you away. We
need some new blood around here. What with the baby coming and all.

I googled ER until I found the episode date and number. Easy, but didn't

I searched,

"what was the song when Lucy and Carter got stabbed?"

and got http://www.faqs.org/qa/fqa3644.html at the bottom of first page
of search results.

The answer to your question was the 3rd one down. I'm sorry for the
behaviour of some of our posters. The question you posed, while
innocent in nature has become a bit of a sore spot and as someone
mentioned became one of those questions where just answering
"Battleflag" just seemed too easy.

I searched,

"Come on baby tell me aim to please lyrics"

and got
http://www.stlyrics.com/lyrics/thesopranospeppersandeggs/battleflag.htm
as the very first hit.

It's second nature to assume that you can just go to a place like this
and post a question without reprisals, but you also must realize...
That episode is SEVERAL years old, and it probably would have been
easier (and quicker) for you to have just googled it.

Cheers Edwin and welcome to the boards.

;-)

Does anyone know the name of the song playing at the end of the episode Be
Still My Heart - where Lucy and Carter are lying on the floor wounded?

I'd like to suggest the song "Magic Carpet Ride" by
Steppenwolf, but that might not be correct.

As soon as I saw the subject line, I knew what the post was about...
theoretically, I didn't even have to read it.

*sigh*

--- Cory, wishing more newbies and/or "drop-ins" (people who just drop
in to ask one question, then are never heard from again) would read the
d**n FAQ first...
